You're ready to create fun and "hidden" learning opportunities for your child, but how? The solution is in looking around to see what you already have!

Take an inventory of the art supplies you have. Do you have something to color with? Pens, pencils, crayons, markers, colored pencils, chalk, paint, etc are all perfect options! Do you have something to color on? Coloring books, junk mail inserts and envelopes, computer paper, construction paper, newspaper, cardboard boxes, etc are all things my own children love to draw, color, or paint on.

If you have any of the items listed above, you are off to a great start! Here is a list of other art supplies that may be helpful to have, but aren't necessary.

  • pipe cleaners

  • beads

  • buttons

  • pom-poms

  • glue

  • stickers

  • scissors

  • buttons

  • ribbon

  • glitter (if you're brave!)

If you do not have many of these items, but want to start a growing collection - I suggest starting with the set linked in the button below.

You can also take a look at all of the toys your child has. They can be used to create "hidden" lessons for your child. You can sort things by large and small, go on a color hunt, make patterns... the possibilities are endless! Make sure to come back to read some of the creative ways we have "hidden" learning into everyday play and activities for our littles.
